Good morning Jupiter class!

I am really excited to be working with you this morning.  I thought you might enjoy learning using Scratch, we are going to make our own e-cards!  Once you understand the code, you can make similar greetings cards to send to your family and friends.  Pretty cool!

At the end of our morning together, please blog your comments about your learning here.  What did you learn?  What did you know already?  What was difficult?  What would you do differently next time?

I’d love to hear how you got on, so Miss Carvalho and I can plan some more exciting Computing lessons for you.

Have fun!

Miss Bates 🙂

We found this lesson fun and a little tricky , however at the end we finished it . Our favourite part of making the game is when we made the “click to open” sprite change colour continuously but we learned a lot this lesson . 🙂 😉

  2. Kevin and Omar says:

In this lesson we learnt how to make sprites move and to make leaflets and it was very fun!!!
we could also use this at home , because when our families have birthdays or other special reasons and we don’t need to buy cards just make them and print them. What Kevin and I found difficult was when we had to put the coordinates, but in the we got there.
What we new is that how to save and also put the in scratch.

    Your Sincerity Omar and Kevin!!!!!!

We have learned how to make a e-cards and I thought this lesson was really fun due to the fact that we animated code and are e-cards. My faivarout part was when we made the happy , birthday and cake glide across the screen and the sad part was when are laptop ran out of charge. 🙂

Nadia and I found this quite tricky when we came to the bit when we had to do the cake. Nura says it was fun and she learned how to make a birthday card. Nadia says it was a hard lesson, but in the end it was ok!. Nadia learned that you can
make cards on scratch instead of buying one. we found this a challenge but we worked as a team. TEAMWORK!
    !

Hi we really enjoyed the lesson and had lots of fun thank you for all you did
for us though the day we really appreciate the lesson you taught us thank you!!

Other lovely things you taught us were difficult one was how to animate happy birthday and penguin
but we still had loads of fun testing out the birthday card, I didn’t know anything about making online
birthday cards. THANKS FOR TECHING US 🙂 🙂
    THANK YOU !!!!!!!

    Hi Miss Bates,
This lesson was really fun. We learnt animating things on Scratch. When we were making the happy birthday sprite go into position it was difficult to get the right coordinates. We would also like to make our own game. We would love for more computing lessons,

    Bye 🙂 :0)

  10. Aaliyah and Chakola says:

We learned about scratch 0.2 and how to make E-cards and how to animate pictures on the Programme. In addition, we
also learned how to make coordinates to move pictures and we also learned how to change colours of arrow 1 and arrow 2.

Aaliyah and I already knew how to upload pictures and create scripts such as Events, Control, Sensing, Operators, Motion, Sounds and etc. On one hand, the coordinates were a bit complicated, but on the other hand we had soooo much fun doing computing and making something we’ve never did before.

    Thank u Miss Bates!!!
    Your sincerely, Aaliyah and Chakola!!!

In this lesson we learnt that scratch is difficult and I am wondering how code club does it . It was fun and thank you for the morning.
